FAQ

Questions about our pricing

20% pay-as-you-go, 80% only for results. The details, briefly.

Are your teachers trained in SEN?
Yes. Teaching pupils with SEN is part of every teacher's training in England, and our teachers work with them in school every week.
What do I pay?
20% of each lesson's price, pay-as-you-go, when you book it. The other 80% is a performance fee, invoiced at the end of each milestone, depending on the result.
What is the Two-Way Guarantee?
It's a results guarantee with commitments on both sides. 20% of each lesson's price is pay-as-you-go, paid with the lesson. The other 80% is a performance fee, paid at the end of each milestone of up to 10 weeks, based on an agreed check. If the child doesn't improve, the performance fee isn't charged, provided the family has kept its commitments.
What does my family need to do?
Your child needs to attend at least 90% of scheduled lessons, complete at least 80% of the homework set, and sit the end-of-milestone check. Lessons we cancel and absences due to illness don't count against you.
What if we're unhappy with our tutor?
Tell us, and we'll find you another teacher. Your plan carries on with them, with the same target. Lessons already taught keep their price, lessons with your new tutor are at theirs, and the performance fee is worked out lesson by lesson. Changing tutor doesn't count as stopping early.
What if we stop part-way through a milestone?
You can stop at any time. The full performance fee is then due on the lessons already taught in that milestone, whatever the result so far. You can cancel within 14 days of agreeing a milestone, and you pay the full price of the lessons taught by then, and nothing more.
Why guarantee results at all?
Because results are why we exist. If your family does its part and the results don't come, we carry the cost, not you.
How does a plan work?
A plan has an outcome, such as Grade 7 in GCSE Maths by June 2027, and is worked through in milestones of up to 10 weeks. Each milestone is lessons, then a test lesson on what it covered, and its performance fee depends on that result. The next milestone follows until the outcome is reached. Then you can start a new plan if you'd like one.
When does the plan start?
After the assessment lessons, when your tutor knows your child's abilities and how they can help. They meet you for a plan session to set out the outcome they'll deliver, then send the plan for you to agree or ask for changes. The assessment lessons go onto the first milestone.
What if we stop before agreeing a plan?
You owe nothing more than the pay-as-you-go you've already paid.
Who decides the outcome?
We do, from the test lesson at the end, where your child sits a timed test marked by your child's school teacher or, if you agreed, your tutor. You see the outcome and the amount on your page, and Stripe emails you the invoice.
Why are Super Teachers different?
They have no improvement fee. You pay their performance fee only if your child hits the target.
Does my teacher earn less if the target isn't met?
No. We pay every teacher in full for every lesson. The risk is ours.
What if lessons are missed?
Your child attends at least 90% of scheduled lessons. Lessons we cancel, lessons you reschedule with at least 24 hours' notice, and absences due to illness don't count as missed. If attendance slips, we tell you in writing within 7 days.
Is the consultation free?
Yes, and so is the interview to meet your tutor.
Is this a money-back guarantee?
No. You never pay the performance fee upfront, so there's nothing to claim back.
