The checks we make, and the ones you can make
Your child will be alone with an adult, in your home. Here is exactly what we do about that.
Before a tutor teaches
How we check
- Every teacher holds an enhanced DBS certificate, which we see before they teach
- We meet every teacher in person, never from a CV and a phone call
- Teaching qualifications and degree certificates are checked against the originals
- References are taken up from the schools they have taught in

How messages work
- Messages between you and your teacher stay inside the platform
- Phone numbers, emails and links are hidden in messages until a meeting is confirmed, in both directions
- A teacher can only get in touch with a family who asked us for a tutor, and only when we chose them for that family
- A message that shares a phone number, an email address or a link is flagged for our team to look at
- The interview runs on a private link only you and your teacher can open
Information
What we hold
- What you tell us about your child is visible to you and your teacher only
- It is never used for advertising, and never sold or shared
- Notes about special educational needs are the most sensitive thing we hold
- You can ask us to delete what we hold about your child at any time
