Our text messages

What we send, how often, and how to stop them at any time.

The programme

In Person Tutors text messages are sent by In Person Tutors to parents, carers and tutors who use our tutoring service and have agreed to receive them.
You join by ticking the box to receive text messages from us, separately from anything else. Agreeing is never a condition of booking or using the service.

Messages about your account and the service: reminders before interviews, lessons and phone consultations; changes and cancellations; payment updates; and, if you ask for them, sign-in codes.
We do not send marketing by text unless you have separately agreed to it.

Message frequency varies with what you have booked: usually no more than a few messages for each booking.

Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge for our messages, but your mobile provider may charge you for receiving them, depending on your plan, including when you are abroad.

To stop receiving messages, reply STOP to any of our messages. You can also reply CANCEL, END, QUIT or UNSUBSCRIBE, turn messages off in your notification settings, or contact us. We will send one message to confirm, and then no more.

To start again after stopping, reply START, or turn messages back on in your notification settings.

Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages, and neither are we. Do not rely on a text message alone for anything urgent: the same details are always in your account and your emails.

We use your mobile number only to send you the messages described here.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We pass your number only to the company that delivers our messages, acting on our instructions.
Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.
Tutors never see your mobile number.
We keep a record of when you agreed to receive messages and when you stopped, so we can show we respected your choice.
