Sara Xhelilaj

I'm a science graduate from King's College London, where I completed an MSci in Pharmacology. I'm now training to teach science through Teach First. I mark GCSE and iGCSE Biology papers for Pearson Edexcel, so I know exactly what examiners look for and how students can pick up (or lose) marks.

I've spent years working with young people as a science instructor in primary schools, an academic mentor, an exam invigilator and a mock interviewer. That experience has taught me to adapt to different learning needs and to build the kind of relationship where students feel confident asking questions.

I believe science is something you do, not just something you memorise. My lessons use questioning, real-world examples and hands-on thinking so students understand the "why" behind the content. That understanding is what lasts into the exam hall.

I hold Level 1 Safeguarding Children, Paediatric First Aid and Mental Health First Aid certificates.
